Supporting your child at home:
Reading: We encourage the children to continue reading as much as possible at home, it really does make a difference! Children can use a variety of skills such as phonics, pictures, knowledge of key words and comprehension in order to develop their reading.

Spellings: Spellings are given out each week for children to learn and record in the green spelling books. Spellings are collected in by Thursday to be reviewed and given out on Friday along with the homework.  Please feel free to encourage your child to practise writing these words in sentences in their homework books, so they really begin to apply the spellings when writing.

Homework: We have really enjoyed seeing all the creative and innovative work that the children have done from their homework wheels. Another homework wheel will be sent out for this next term around our topic ‘explorers’; a task to be completed each week of your choice from the wheel. The maths part of the wheel will now consist of 2 to 3  tasks for the children to choose from, accessed through the ‘My Maths’ website.  You will receive a login and password for this shortly. Please let us know if you have any teething issues - we are happy to help!

Reminders:
-Please make sure your child arrives between 8:40 and 8:50 am. If you arrive after this time we ask that you take your child to the School office where they will be signed in.
-Please remember to leave a message on the absence line if your child is not well enough to come to School.
-All children from Reception to Year 2 are entitled to a Universal Free School Meal.
