Extended Learning Clubs

At Joy Lane Primary School, an extensive programme of extra-curricular activities is offered every two terms, with a brand new timetable going out each September, January and April. We try to ensure that every child who wishes to attend a club is able to, and we endeavour to do our utmost to accommodate this. However, there may be the odd occasion where a club exceeds the appropriate adult/child ratio so we may have to limit the number in each club and would therefore advise you accordingly.

We offer a broad range of quality after school clubs for the children to sign up to; however, due to reduced funding for schools and increased costs, we charge a nominal £1 fee per session for the clubs. The exception being that if your child is in receipt of Free School Meals, then the School Pupil Premium allocated will meet the cost of the clubs; you will still need to pay in advance and will be refunded afterwards.

All clubs will start straight after school at 3:15pm. Children follow usual ‘end-of-day’ routines and meet the ‘Club Leader’ at a designated meeting point.

All pupils should be collected from the specified collection point (usually the School office) at the finish time of 4.15pm. If a club finishes at a different time you would be advised accordingly.

Where possible, clubs are not cancelled; they will go ahead regardless of the weather. The office will send out club reminders and notifications. Please contact the office for enquiries.

Safety and Security

A register is taken at the beginning of each club and every child ‘checks out’ with the Club Leader before departing. If a child signs up for a club, we ask that they commit to it, and if for any reason they withdraw, we would appreciate written confirmation of this please. If a child is unable to attend on any occasion, we ask you inform the School office or Club Leader as soon as possible.
